Tim was Renegade Communication’s founding investor in 1988, joining the firm full time in 1991. Since then, as Chief Executive Officer, he has turned what was once a small firm into a multi-faceted creative strategic advertising and marketing communications company focused on building their clients’ businesses. His background in finance and accounting combined with a strong work ethic have resulted in a thriving media company that serves national brands such as the Comcast, Time Warner Cable, American Movie Classics, NBC Universal, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, Care First, Loyola Sellinger School of Business, Towson University Athletic Department, Arris, Asus, Motorola, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington DC, Huntington’s Disease Society
of America – among many others.

As Renegade’s most senior client contact, Tim’s leadership and vision, in-depth understanding of key client industries, as well as a wealth of marketing communications experience, makes him a valuable resource to client management as well as the strategic Renegade team. Tim has had the opportunity to be a speaker and panelist in many industry conferences and forums.

In 1995 Tim founded Leo McWatkins Films, a production company that focuses on programming and documentary filmmaking. In 2013 this company was re-named Seventh State Productions. Among his many roles, Tim is also a producer and director. He directed and produced the four-time award-winning documentary In the Face of Evil: Regan’s War in Word and Deed. His other credits include: Distant Signals, and the award-winning short film PUSH, A Shortstop in China which is a Telly award-winning documentary featuring Cal Ripken’s diplomatic envoy to China. Tim is also the co-founder of Grace Before Meals, a movement co-founded with Fr. Leo Patalinghug. The movement’s goal is to get families back together using meal preparation and the family dinner.

Among his most recent works is the now two-time Telly Award winning documentary The Blood & The Rose a film on the liberation of Mexico featuring the complete story on the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The film is now completed in English and Spanish with Portuguese subtitles.

Outside of the business realm, Tim is a member of the Maryland Film Industry Commission board, on the Presidential Advancement Counsel for the Fellowship Of Catholic University Students (FOCUS), a board member for the Towson Global Business Incubator, on the board of Kids Play USA, a board member of The Table Foundation,the Baltimore Legatus
Chapter President, on the advisory council for the Towson University College of Health Professions, on marketing Committees for Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Catholic Charities of Washington DC, a 2013 & 2014 Women In Cable & Telecommunications Mentor, an avid participant in charitable organizations, including participating in the creation and development of the Center for Adults with Autism at Towson University. Tim was also a member of the One Love Foundation National Advisory Council.

He runs his company like he lives his life; having fun and working hard but always remembering where he came from. Tim serves as an example to his employees and has made Renegade one of the best places to work. When he’s not working, Tim is at home in Westminster.
